Whiskey Fruit Slushie

This whiskey fruit slushie combines spirits with blended frozen fruit to create a silky, icy beverage with a bold flavor contrast between the warming whiskey and refreshing cold. The mixture is prepared by blending ingredients until smooth and then served chilled, resulting in a vibrant, semi-frozen drink with a slightly slushy texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup whiskey your choice of bourbon or rye
  • 1 cup fruit juice or water to help blend smoothly
  • 2 tbsp sugar syrup optional, for sweetness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the frozen berries and place them into the blender.
  2. Add the whiskey over the berries, ensuring enough liquid to facilitate blending.
  3. Pour in the fruit juice or water, then add the sugar syrup if using, to balance the flavors.
  4. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is smooth, icy, and evenly combined, about 30-45 seconds.
  5. Stop the blender and check the texture; it should be silky and slightly slushy with no large chunks.
  6. Pour the chilled slushie into glasses, using a spoon if needed to serve the thick mixture.
  7. Finish by garnishing with extra berries or a sprig of mint if desired, then enjoy immediately.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and alcohol level to taste. For a smoother texture, blend longer or add more liquid. Use frozen fruit to maintain a chilly, slushy consistency.
