Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon cubes seedless or de-seeded for a smoother blend
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves lightly packed
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1-2 cups ice cubes adjust for desired consistency

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Prepare the watermelon by cutting it into roughly 1-inch cubes, ensuring all seeds are removed.
  2. Add the watermelon cubes, fresh mint leaves, lime juice, and ice cubes into the blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and slushy, about 30-45 seconds. The texture should be thick, cold, and slightly grainy from the ice.
  4. Check the consistency; if the slushie is too thick, add a little more lime juice or a splash of water and blend briefly to loosen.
  5. Pour the chilled slushie into glasses, filling them close to the rim.
  6. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint, if desired, and serve immediately for a refreshing treat.

Notes

For a sweeter variation, add a teaspoon of honey or agave syrup before blending. Adjust the amount of ice cubes for a thicker or thinner slushie as preferred.
