- Place the ice cubes in your blender and pulse briefly to crush them into smaller pieces, creating a coarse texture.
- Add the freshly squeezed lime juice, orange liqueur, tequila, and simple syrup (if using) into the blender with the ice.
- Blend on high until the mixture is smooth, with a slushy, slightly frosty appearance and well-incorporated ingredients. This usually takes about 30-40 seconds.
- Stop the blender and check the consistency. If it’s too thick, add a splash of lime juice or water and blend briefly to loosen. If it’s too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
- Pour the vibrant green slushie into chilled glasses, allowing the icy mixture to settle into a thick, luscious layer.
- Garnish each glass with a lime wedge or a salted rim for added flavor and visual appeal.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the tequila and liqueur with additional lime juice and a splash of orange juice.
