Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee cooled to room temperature
  • 1 cup ice cubes crushed or whole
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 dash vanilla extract optional

Equipment

  • Coffee Maker
  • Blender

Method

  1. Pour the cooled brewed coffee into the blender jar.
  2. Add the ice cubes to the blender with the coffee.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes thick, slushy, and smooth with no large ice chunks remaining—about 30-45 seconds.
  4. Stop the blender and check the consistency—if it’s too thick, add a splash of milk; if it’s too liquid, blend a few more seconds.
  5. Divide the coffee slushie into glasses, garnishing with a coffee bean or a sprinkle of cocoa powder if desired.

Notes

For an extra creamy texture, blend in a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a splash of milk.
